Finding a new place and more. (closed)

After her failure in the park, Alex moved to the streets. The bodies she had thrown through the portal. It was almost as good as the Abyss.  A glow was running over her skin from being well fed. Yes, she knew it had been a bit pale, but the smile which came with it, made her look even better.  Passing the old looking shops Alex wondered which part of the world she had landed in.  Her finger touched the brick, it felt cold and wet, but there was a different texture.  Was this also a chance to start over, not just a new city, but also a new country.  Finding a bench, next to a bookstore, Alex sighed and sat down.  The residence of this place was up, unlike where she had come from, but she had no interest to have a snack now, she was full.   Looking at her hands, the blood was gone, but the small traces were still there.  Humans would not notice it, but she did and this feeling in her stomach returned.  She was a monster, something she had tried to avoid becoming again.

Leaning back she looked around. "Where am I?" she wondered but then saw a sign she had seen when she had arrived in Ravenblack.  Apartment for rent call and then a number.   If she wasn't going back, she had to find a place to stay.  The building looked old, and the apartment seems to be located on the top floor.  Taking out her cellphone Alex looked down.  "Oh, this is great, no cell service, what you hate me again?" she asked her cellphone and threw it, maybe a bit too hard against the wall. The phone shattered into a million pieces and landed on the sidewalk.  A male passing looked at her. "Can I help?" he asked. "Can I borrow your phone?" Alex asked smiling at the man.  Without much trouble he handed it over, well it was one of her skills to get men to do what she wanted.  She had become more Charismatic.  laughing at her own inside joke Alex called the number, which seemed to be in use at the moment.  "Could I keep it, seems the one I am calling is already in a conversation" she asked.  The man smiled and looked up. "As long as you keep calling that number you never reach it, it is that phone," he said.

The conversation and the sighting of the apartment, which was larger than Alex had expected, as it seems to hold two layers instead of one, took a few hours, but like before she ended up with it. The rent was a bit more than she had paid before, but she now had four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a nice large kitchen, and two living rooms.  The furniture was reasonably new and the devices in the kitchen were as well.  Just the bedlinen and some other stuff needed to be replaced.   Meant shopping was on the agenda.  

After having talked some more to the owner and getting the keys,  Alex moved into the street again.  She even had an elevator now, so bringing all those new things up would be easy.  Standing on the street again, Alex now had another problem. She had no clue where to go.  Starting to laugh and shrugged her shoulders, starting to walk. She could do it how she did everything. She would find what she needed when she wasn't looking for it.  How else to get to know a new place.

This city, these streets, it was not RavenBlack, the feel, the vibe of this place was different. Still, the taste in the air held an eery promise and Alex was not sure if she was happy with what the air promised. It made her hungry again. With her hand running along with the cold stones of the buildings she passed Alex shook her head. "If I don't find a way to feed without killing and more regular, I will never stop being hungry" she whispered to herself. But like in the park the bloodlust just simply took over. Sunrise would be around 5:30, it was now 2:30, so she had 3 hours before she had to be inside. Sun was bad. A chuckle came from her lips. Turning the corner she found a lively street and almost turned around again. No, she had fed tonight and she could handle being around people, and so she walked on. The shops were nice and fully stocked and while enjoying herself she bought the stuff she needed. She did do it at a more quick speed because she did not want to be late getting inside.

It was 5 am as she did return home and with some of the things she had she made sure sunlight would not penetrate the windows. Putting the phone in down with the media file on and the music on ten Alex simply started with the other stuff she needed to do. She had picked the biggest bed, which was a Super King, it had been harder to shop for the bedlinen but she had found a few that she loved. The rest were normal King size beds. She also made sure she had gotten bedlinen for those. She threw the pillows on her bed and laughed. Yes, she would be happy here. Letting herself fall on the bed she smirked and looked at the ceiling. When the sun was gone again, she would also buy something to make a starry night up there. She knew how to do that.

Over the day, the parts she did not sleep, Alex did the house chores which was needed and made sure she was familiar with all access points. There also was one to the sewer which was kind of gross, but at the same time handy should it be needed. The question she did ask herself was more why a human would have an exit to the sewer in his home, especially if the apartment was on the top floor, but she could smell the distinct odor of sewer from the exit. The other two were the main door and an exit to the roof. On the front, there was a balcony in which you could place two chairs and a small table, and to the side, with an exit from one of the other bedrooms, there was also a small balcony. The kitchen was nice and larger than her previous one. She loved it, as she loved baking and cooking in general.

As night finally arrived, Alex most of the time didn't like that the day always was so long, she opened her curtains and put the timer on so they would automatically close half an hour before sunrise. Grabbing her coat and her bag, Alex left her place and went back to exploring the town. She now had all night to find something fun to do. On the street of her apartment it was almost deserted, but the moment she turned the corner the liveliness of the city came into view. Taking a few steps Alex turned around and looked at her street. Was there something that made people not see it? Shrugging Alex turned back and walked into the mass of people. It was fun hearing all the different languages and different kinds of people. Passing a club and hearing the loud music and laughter from inside Alex swallowed. How she would love to go inside and for one evening be her old self again, but it was too risky, maybe once she had enough control she would.

Walking on Alex found a fountain in the middle of a square and sat down and looked up. She always had liked the night sky, so it was not that bad she only could be out during the night, on the other hand, the day always took so long. The sound of fighting people made Alex look up and she swallowed. The fight which had been purely verbal turned right in front of her into a physical altercation and it was not a one-on-one fight. The smell of blood soon got to Alex and she closed her eyes. A young woman was pushed against her, and only because of her quick reflexes did she avoid landing in the fountain water. The woman did. A male looked at her, his face was covered in blood, which was partly his, partly not, and then went to the woman in the fountain. Why he was suddenly pissed at her Alex didn't know, she did know in his current state he didn't want to pick a fight with her, which he did of course. Alcohol and aggression, not a good combination. While the rest kept fighting, the male attacked Alex. Avoiding the first few punches and trying to keep her nature from showing she tried to step away. Seemingly one of the other fighters had noticed and grabbed Alex from behind which resulted and her being hit by the first male. She lost control, she simply lost it. As her mind cleared again most of the fighters were dead or had most likely run. A curse left her lips and while she started to drag the bodies to an alley and inside a dumpster she complained to herself about herself.

After she had all bodies in the dumpster she simply put fire to it making the bodies burn. It didn't smell good, but with the alcohol which was present the flames soon were nicely there. Sliding down the wall at the entrance Alex shook her head. "Why do I always mess up?" she said to herself, remembering how she had simply torn the skin from the victims to get better to the veins. The warm blood had been so good, and it had simply pushed her on to grab more.
